Problem

Cal Poly’s procurement system is not meeting its goal of 25% of purchases coming from small businesses. The current system lacks transparency, making it difficult for the procurement staff to track and report metrics efficiently.

Technical Solution

The team developed a dashboard that simplifies the procurement research process and provides recommendations for small businesses to meet the 25% diversity requirement. The solution utilizes AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Amazon Bedrock, and DynamoDB to process and analyze procurement data, match small businesses with purchase orders, and present the information in a user-friendly interface.
