“”Our vision was to streamline student scheduling in the CCC system for students and counselors and minimize the effort it takes to plan out courses that cater to individual goals.”

Problem

Many students in the California Community College (CCC) system, especially those from non-traditional backgrounds or without prior experience, face challenges in planning their course schedules effectively. 26% of CCC students enroll without a clear goal, 42% come from non-traditional backgrounds, and transfer students often take more units than required.

Technical Solution

ChatCCC is an AI-powered scheduling assistant that streamlines the course planning process for CCC students and counselors. It utilizes natural language processing to understand student requirements and constraints, and then generates optimized schedules by leveraging data from the CCC course catalogs. The solution aims to minimize the effort required for students to plan their courses while catering to their individual goals and backgrounds.
